Human Enhancement Division Shirt: The Graphic's Origin
Every graphic that leaves the Lab has paperwork. Buried in that paperwork is the origin file for Human Enhancement Division — the back print that turned our running "it's genetics" joke into the loudest garment we've ever shipped.
This is the story of how a sketch about suspiciously large gorillas became a shirt, why the design lives on the back and not the chest, and what "enhancement" actually means when nothing in the lab is real except the ink.
Born in the Lab, Not the Gym
The idea started with a question the Lab asks about every physique that looks too finished: is that discipline, or is that a compound we don't have clearance to name? Human Enhancement Division was our answer — a fictional department, a fictional file number, a very real print.
No lab coats were harmed. No actual enhancement occurred. The only thing engineered here is the composition: alchemist bulls and gorillas built like they skipped a few regulatory steps, rendered in the same painterly style as the rest of the Toxic Lab Series.
From Sketch to Back Piece
The brief was simple and impossible at once: make it look like a redacted government file crossed with a gym poster your uncle would've had in 1987. Early sketches lived on the chest, small and quiet. They got benched fast — this story needed the whole back to breathe.
The final artwork covers the print area the way a good back day covers a mirror: completely. It's the kind of piece you don't fully see until someone else is standing behind you, which is exactly the point.

Why "Enhancement"?
We could've called it something safer. We didn't, because the joke only works if it commits: a division that "enhances," a genetics that's suspiciously convenient, a wearer who shrugs and says nothing when asked what they're on. The answer is always the same — protein, patience, and a printer.
It's satire, not a claim. Nobody at Gymchemy is selling you a shortcut, a stack, or a story. We're selling the shirt you wear while other people invent one about you.
Two Files, Two Colorways
Human Enhancement Division ships in Faded Bone and Faded Black, the same restrained palette that runs through the whole Toxic Lab Series. Bone reads like a case file left out in the sun; Black reads like it never saw daylight in the first place.
Same graphic, same back-piece scale, two completely different moods on the rack. Try both under the shop lights before you decide which department you belong to.

Built to Survive Leg Day
A print this size only works on a shirt built to carry it — heavyweight cotton, oversized cut, boxy enough to move with you instead of against you. This isn't a shirt you baby through the wash; it's a shirt you deadlift in.
If you're between sizes, size up — the fit is meant to sit loose through the shoulders so the back graphic reads clean from across the gym floor. Check our size guide before you check out.
Join the Division
Human Enhancement Division is one file in a much bigger cabinet. The rest of the Toxic Lab Series runs the same universe — alchemist bulls, suspicious gains, and prints too big to hide under a hoodie.
Pull the full case file, or just grab the tee and let people draw their own conclusions. Either way, the paperwork's on us.
