Trust Me, It's Genetics: The Story Behind the Graphic
Every gym has one guy who got suspiciously big, suspiciously fast — and one line he leans on when the accusations start: "trust me, it's genetics."
That cope is the whole story behind our best-known graphic. Here's how a locker-room punchline became an Alchemist Bull printed big across your back.
The line that started it
"It's genetics" is the oldest deflection in the iron game. Blow up past what people expect and the whispers begin: too big, too fast, must be on something. The comeback, delivered with a straight face, is always the same three words.
We didn't invent the joke — every serious lifter has said it or heard it. Trust Me, It's Genetics just prints the cope where everyone can read it, so the accusation and the answer arrive at the same time.
Anatomy of the Alchemist Bull
The graphic pairs the phrase with the Alchemist Bull — a hulking, lab-born beast mid-experiment, flasks bubbling behind it, the mascot of the whole Toxic Lab world. It's chemistry-set imagery welded to a bodybuilding punchline, drawn dense enough to hold up as a large back print.
It sits across the shoulder blades where a statement print belongs: big, unmissable, readable from across the squat rack. The front stays clean with the Gymchemy / Toxic Lab mark; the joke lives on the back.

Irony, not a claim
Let's be clear, because the whole joke depends on it: this is satire about gym culture, not a statement about anyone's regimen. No substances, no promises, no wink at anything you'd hide from a drug test — just the accusation-and-cope ritual that plays out in every gym.
That's the line the entire Toxic Lab series walks: chemistry as aesthetic, never as advice. The bull is a cartoon, the flasks are set dressing, the humour is the point.
Faded Black or Bone
The print lands on the same heavyweight oversized tee as the rest of the lab: thick faded-wash cotton, drop shoulders, a boxy cut built to carry a big back graphic without warping. Faded Black gives the bull a moodier, blacked-out lab feel; Bone reads cleaner and lets the linework breathe.
Both are the AS Colour heavy-faded body we build everything on, so the choice is pure vibe, not quality. Pick the one that matches the rest of your gym fits.

Said in six languages
Because the accusations happen in whatever language your gym speaks, the design is printed in six of them. "Trust me, it's genetics" hits differently on your back in Italian, German, Spanish or Portuguese — localised, not machine-translated, so the joke actually lands.
Same bull, same cope, your language. Grab your size and let the shirt answer the next natty accusation for you.
